The tournament will start on 17th June and will go on until the 21st of June. This will probably be the first time Riot will be hosting a tournament in India officially. The Teamfight Tactics tournament will have a prize pool of Rs 75,000. Registrations for the tournament are now open through the Paytm First Games app.

Sudhanshu Gupta, COO, Paytm First Games said, "We continue to stay committed to our mission of bringing world-class gaming experience to our users and this partnership will help us to move a step ahead in this direction. This Teamfight Tactics tournament will be the biggest one ever organized in India in terms of prize money and participation. We are going to live with it in the next xx days and hope to expand our partnership with Riot in the near future."

Riot Games South Asia’s Publishing Head, Sukamal Pegu said, “We are extremely proud to partner with PFG to bring TFTm to where it matters most to us at Riot, which is our players. We have great plans for India considering that we have just started our journey on mobile this year. Our relationship with India is just starting and we will work hard to constantly delight our fans and players here."

TFT is an auto battler which can trace its origins back to Auto Chess, which was originally a mod in Dota 2. It shares the same universe as Riot’s League of Legends and also features Champions from the game.

It should also be noted that Anurag Khurana, who is now an Esports Consultant at Paytm First Games, was earlier the Country Manager for Riot Games India until 2018.
