S-Pen Slot, the Improved Camera on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Report

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 successor is reported to bring multiple improvements. Nothing has been officially declared but as reports suggest Samsung is planning to add multiple enhancements to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 focusing on the S-Pen slot.

Improvements could also be seen in cameras and making the phone lighter. Samsung has reportedly been working on the S Pen slot for a long time and wanted to introduce it with the latest Galaxy Z Fold 4 model. However, that didn’t happen as the foldable smartphone was released with the S Pen slot.

Improvements in Galaxy Z Fold 5

Samsung has explained that its suppliers must overcome some challenges to make foldable phones even more popular. The company has asked its suppliers to make the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 lighter, slimmer and more durable. Samsung also wants its suppliers to reduce the crease on the screen on the next Fold device. The tech giant has even demanded improved cameras and a designated slot for the S Pen reported The Elec.

Like the S Pen slot, Samsung also wanted to include high-end camera modules on the Fold 4 but the company was forced to ditch those plans due to thickness and weight restrictions. To compare, Galaxy Z Fold 4 weighs more than both the newly released iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

The company has also asked its suppliers to develop better vibration motors to offer improved haptic feedback and to try new materials to reduce the weight of foldable phones. Samsung has also stressed the development of better software to fit the 4:3 ratio screen of the Fold series.

Samsung believes that the foldable smartphone market will increase by 80% before 2025, the report adds and so gives importance to it. South Korean Tech also expect Apple to join the foldable space in 2024.
Further, as per the report, 90% of foldable phone users are likely to buy a foldable handset as their next device as well.
