Salveo Life Sciences Limited is a start-up pharmaceutical distribution
company with sales revenues of approx. Rs 2.50 crore in the first year of its
commercial operation. Being new in business, the company knew it had to make the
most of all opportunities that came their way. To put this in practice, the top
management mandated that all of its Indian operations be equipped with better
control on real time sales and inventory data across locations, everyday. So,
they decided to go for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0 across branches and
implemented the Sales and Inventory, Purchase and Finance modules. Within 15
months the solution was rolled out at the Bangalore head office and across 22
consignee agent locations. The impact began to be felt almost immediately after
the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0, and the Bangalore marketing
team has been able to streamline daily business procedures, have centralized
control of sales prices and schemes across India and real-time access to
accurate business information. One of the unique requirements during the
implementation of NAV 4.0 was to allow creation of transfer orders even before
the items were received or available in the stock. The other unique requirement
was to incorporate all India taxes without affecting the Finance module. Some of
the key customizations included: Having Value Added Tax (VAT) calculations on
MRP of items, quantity based schemes, numbering series for each location and
restricting data access for users to their individual regional data.The company
now has access to real time data on sales, returns and inventory at different
locations across India. This enables them to track sales and inventory on a
daily basis. They can also gather accurate information on actual sales and check
stock positions across their 24 locations countrywide.
