Even while there aren't many significant improvements, at least not for the Galaxy S23, there are some improvements in the camera that go above and beyond what is expected.

Let's compare the Galaxy S23 to the Galaxy S22 from the previous year to see what has changed and what hasn't.

Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Galaxy S22: Design and display

When it comes to the design, not much has changed. Except for the separate camera modules, which have been freed from the contour cut module that we have seen for the past few years and have a much more streamlined design across the series, the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S22 look nothing more than different.

With the change to a little less curvy than the previous S22, there is a small change at the edges.

The Galaxy S23, like the Galaxy S22, is available in two sizes: a 6.1-inch model called the "plain" model and a 6.6-inch model called the "S23+."

These two have HDR10+ playback support, flat AMOLED panels with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, and an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz.

These are identical to last year, the only new feature is the display's increased brightness to 1750 nits, up from the Galaxy S22 and S22+'s 1300 nits.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22: Performance

The most significant difference between the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S22 is that the Galaxy S23 has Qualcomm's most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is also faster than any other processor Qualcomm has provided to other manufacturers.

The Galaxy S23's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has a clock speed of 3.6 GHz, compared to the vanilla silicon's 3.32 GHz. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset powered the Galaxy S22 and S22+ from last year.

There are two storage options for the Galaxy S23: 128GB and 256GB. In contrast, the Galaxy S23+ also comes in two storage capacities, 256GB and 512GB, respectively. There is only one 8GB RAM option available for the two sizes.

Even the battery capacity of the two smartphones has been slightly improved. The battery capacity of the Galaxy S23 is 3900 mAh, up from 3700 mAh on the Galaxy S22.

The battery in the Galaxy S23+ is 4700mAh, 200mAh more than in the Galaxy S22+. For the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, the maximum charging current remains at 25W.

The three cameras, a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto unit with a 3x zoom are identical, even though they are not stacked together. On the front, however, there is a slight upgrade from a 10MP camera to a 12MP one.

Samsung claims that some improvements have been made behind the scenes to improve nighttime shots, including portraits. Users will be able to shoot 50MP images in both HDR Video mode and RAW mode thanks to improvements made to HDR.

Galaxy S22 vs S23: Price

The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ begin at Rs 74,999 and Rs 94,999, respectively, in India. In the meantime, the Galaxy S22 was released in India for Rs 72,999; however, following the most recent price reduction, the phone is now available for Rs 57,999.
