Configuration of the Rear Camera

The Galaxy S24 is believed to have the same flat-screen design as the Galaxy S23 series but with a unique rear camera arrangement that has three sensors wholly incorporated into the back panel rather than a camera module.

Battery Replacement

The Galaxy S24 is rumoured to have a larger 4,000mAh battery than the Galaxy S22 and S23, which have 3,700mAh and 3,900mAh batteries, respectively. This is likely because the regular model has a smaller form factor, allowing for a larger battery without sacrificing too much room.

Display

The Galaxy S24+ is believed to be somewhat taller and thinner than its predecessor, with a 6.65-inch display, while the Galaxy S24 may have a more compact 6.1-inch screen.

The standard model of the Galaxy S24 is expected to have a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, making it one of the brightest smartphones on the market, even brighter than the recently released Pixel 8 Pro in India and the global leader, the Oppo Find X6 Pro.

The Galaxy S24 is also rumoured to have an LTPO display, allowing it to vary its refresh rate from 48Hz to 120Hz based on the material being presented, conserving battery life and giving a more fluid user experience.

Processor

In most global markets, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to use Exynos chips from Samsung, but the Indian edition and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips. This is a break from the Galaxy S23 lineup, which employed Snapdragon CPUs across the board.

Meanwhile, Samsung's Exynos 2400 processor, which will be utilised in limited markets, delivers considerable enhancements over the previous generation, including a 30% faster GPU, a 70% faster CPU, and a 14.7x faster NPU. It also supports AI processing on the device, which enables functionality like text-to-image conversion.

Artificial intelligence and software

The Galaxy S24, Samsung's next flagship smartphone series, is slated to debut with Android 14 with Samsung's own OneUI 6.1 software layer. It will also have many AI technologies, including a new virtual assistant that potentially outperforms Bixby. Samsung has made significant investments in AI development, and the Galaxy S24 series will likely reflect this.

Aside from AI features, the Galaxy S24 series is rumoured to offer a better camera system and a more streamlined design. However, users of earlier Galaxy S devices will recognise it. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the most significant AI improvements, making it Samsung's first "Generative AI" smartphone.

Colour and design possibilities

The Galaxy S24 is expected to include a premium titanium frame, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro versions, for a more beautiful and durable structure. Furthermore, the display is projected to have 40% thinner bezels than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, resulting in a symmetrical and streamlined appearance. The front camera hole-punch cutout is also expected to be reduced and moved for a more streamlined appearance. The Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphone will be available in black, grey, violet, yellow, green, blue, and orange, among other brilliant colours.

Previous rumours also stated that all three Galaxy S24 variants would have flatter sides, improving grip and ergonomics for a more comfortable user experience.
