Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra's US Variant with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC: Geekbench Debut and What to Expect

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra variants, is slated to be released early next year. The US form of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, model number SM-S928U, has now purportedly been detected on the Geekbench benchmarking site. The listing hints that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will use the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It may be the only model in the lineup to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Depending on the area, the vanilla Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are scheduled to ship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and an Exynos 2400 SoC.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Geekbench website

The model number SM-S928U of a Samsung smartphone has been discovered on the Geekbench website. The entry, which is thought to be for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, suggests the presence of the Android 14 operating system. According to the benchmark listing, the phone will be powered by an octa-core Pineapple chipset with a 1+3+2+2 CPU arrangement. It indicates a primary CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.30GHz, three cores with a clock speed of 3.15GHz, two cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.96GHz, and the remaining two cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.27GHz. These CPU speeds and codenames are thought to be linked to the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The listing indicates a score of 2,234 in single-core testing and 6,807 in multi-core testing. According to the description, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could have 6.91GB of RAM, translating to 8GB on paper. The listing is from 12 October. The statistics indicate a significant boost over the Geekbench performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powered Galaxy S23 Ultra, which scored 1,521 and 4,689 in single and multi-core tests, respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Expected Features

According to early reports, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will be equipped with an Exynos chip in all territories, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with a Snapdragon chip in all markets. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC was used in all Galaxy S23 handsets released globally.

According to previous rumours, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It reportedly has a quad-camera arrangement on the back, led by a 200-megapixel primary camera. A 50-megapixel telephoto shooter, a third 12-megapixel sensor, and another 10-megapixel sensor are reportedly believed to be included in the rear camera unit. A 12-megapixel camera on the front may be available for selfies and video chats. It is said to have a 5,000mAh battery with 45W rapid charging.
