Samsung Galaxy S4 Goes On Sale In India!

The UB City Mall was packed as crowds gathered to see celebrities Genelia D'Souza and Vidyut Jamwal handing out the Galaxy S4 models to the first owners in India. The device went on sale officially at 12 noon on April 27th, at Samsung retail stores in Bangalore,Delhi,Hyderabad and Mumbai initially. It has been priced at Rs 41,500, lesser than both the HTC One and the iPhone 5. We had a short hands-on with the device, and the speed of it was truly impressive. Here were some of the key features of it that we noticed:

  • 5-inch screen (1920*1080) with 441 PPI
  • 13 MP Camera with several new camera features
  • A bunch of new Samsung apps - including 'S Health','S Voice', 'ChatON', 'WatchOn'
  • Exynos Octo-Core processor - consists on 1.6 Ghz Quad Core + 1.2 Ghz Quad Core
  • 'Air View' - preview photos,emails,videos by hovering over the item with your finger
  • Android 4.2.2 JellyBean

Samsung has also partnered up with Vodafone to offer an "All-in-one" tariff plan for the Galaxy S4, which will allow customers to get unlimited internet, up to 3000 local and STD voice minutes and up to 750 local & national SMS. Given the influx of Samsung models in the market at various price points, it will be interesting to see how sales of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be.
