SamMobile says that Ice Universe, a source, believes that Samsung MX CEO TM Roh will likely tease the high-end processor during the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event.

It is anticipated that the new processor will be developed for the Galaxy S25 series, which will be released at the beginning of 2025. The second or third generation of Samsung Foundry's 3nm gate-all-around (GAA) fabrication process is also likely to be used in its production.

In addition, the tech giant is said to have established a team of more than 1,000 engineers, one of whom is an Apple veteran semiconductor specialist. It could be expected that Exynos chips will disappear forever from Galaxy smartphones and tablets if its first chip becomes a success, as per reports.

This will be the first Unpacked event held in person since the beginning of 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.

Further, the Galaxy S23 series will go on sale on February 1 this year, according to information provided by the tech giant's Colombia website last week.

Expected changes in the Galaxy S23 series

With the Galaxy S23 series and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, you can anticipate a significant jump in overall CPU and GPU performance. Expect significant performance improvements on the Galaxy S23 series, with features such as ray tracing for gaming, support for faster LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage standards, WiFi 7, an improved ISP, and more, resulting in a longer battery life and better thermal management.
