New Update

In our tests, the text output was sharp and clear. The graphics quality was not very good though, as we got a bit of banding in monochrome graphics printouts, printed at the best resolution (600 dpi). The printer connects to the computer via USB 1.1 interface. It comes with drivers, monitoring software and the manual (in 15 languages including English) on a CD. However, the bonus software is deceptively Acrobat Reader 5.0. The printer has robust paper management system — you have a 250-sheet input tray and a 50-sheet face-down output tray. There’s also a face-up rear-output tray that can be used for single page printouts especially for manual-feeds from the front panel. There’s support for A4, A5, B5, Executive and Letter paper-sizes. You can also get prints on transparencies, labels, card stocks and envelopes. There’s a paper-indicator that can help you decide whether to re-fill the printer tray or not.

The single button toner-saver option on the printer’s control panel is very convenient. The second LED shows the printer’s ‘on’ or ‘error’ state.

What’s more, you get a couple of options while printing, like printing watermarks, overlays and posters, which are very useful.

Moreover, The toner cartridge is claimed to print 3,000 sheets at 5 Percent coverage.

Overall, a good printer for users who don’t have requirements for colour or graphics prints.
