Currently, OLED displays are employed in Samsung's Galaxy Watches. Other manufacturers receive OLED panels from the firm for smartwatches. Future Galaxy Watch versions will have these cutting-edge displays once its MicroLED technology is commercialized.

One of the most significant suppliers of OLED panels for the Apple Watch is Samsung. According to recent reports, Apple intends to switch its smartwatch to MicroLED.

As a result, the business might not buy as many Samsung OLED panels as it does now. Samsung Display can guarantee that Apple will continue to be a customer of it’s by becoming a supplier of MicroLED panels for smartwatches.

MicroLED panels will be significantly better than OLED panels. They have a better contrast ratio, are brighter, and reproduce colors well. Under direct sunlight, visibility is significantly improved.

Additionally, MicroLED panels use less power, allowing smartwatches to last longer on a single charge. At the end of last year, Samsung Display set up a new team to work on this project. The team wants to see this technology become commercially available soon. But the process will take a long time, and Samsung Display hopes to finish the development this year.

Additionally, if it works, Samsung Display will be able to satisfy Apple and Samsung's demand for premium smartwatches.

Further, the largest manufacturer of OLED displays for smartphones and smartwatches is Samsung. Samsung OLED panels, which are used in Apple's Watch series, are being pushed as a way for the Korean tech titan to maintain its position as a market leader.
