Samsung Yepp’

New Update

Size does matter, even if it’s small! That’s what we figured after pulling out the latest Yepp’ player from its Pringle’s shaped box. It’s small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and packs a lot of functionality. Its 64 MB memory can play MP3 and even WMA files. If you get tired of listening to recorded music, you can always shift to the built-in FM radio. You can also record voices, the playback of which is very clear. Music playback quality is superb and you can choose from four preset equalizer modes. There’s a fifth custom mode that lets you vary the bass and treble. Songs are transferred from a PC over a USB cable. It doesn’t take long to set up the software for doing so. The player automatically powers on the moment you insert the USB cable. We would’ve liked if it launched the corresponding software also. You can selectively choose the songs to transfer, and the software will display the amount of memory you have left . There’s an indicator to show the status of songs being transferred and the speed at which it’s being done. The speed of transferring songs is quite fast. It took us 12 secs to transfer a 6 MB MP3 song from a PC to the player. Deleting songs from the player is even quicker. The player runs on two AAA-sized alkaline batteries from which we got 12 hours continuous playback. The player’s blue backlit LCD pane provides information about the tracks playing played, including the ID3 tags. Overall, a feature-rich player for mobile music buffs.
