SCHOOL-MANAGEMENT SW: Campus Pro—School Management SW

This software automates all proccesses of an academic institute, such as admission procedure, timetable creation, academic activities, payroll, test-paper generation, transportation, medical report, inventory management and hostel management. It uses MS Access as the database and hardware requirements to run it are also pretty low, with the minimum being a PII with 128 MB RAM. It can work on all versions of Windows starting from Win 95. Campus Pro can run on a network in a client/server configuration, and there are no limits on the number of users logging in. Of course, the performance can degrade as users increase. The software's administrator can decide which users have access to which modules. It generates exhaustive reports along with a graphical representation of data, making it easier to manage information. It is useful for students as well, as it provides them detailed status of their academic activities. You can even create detailed reports of students to send to their parents, either through print or e-mail. The software also backs up data and offers manual or automatic recovery. While it's useful, it would require some amount of training to learn.

The vendor provides free upgrade for the first six months. Future releases are expected to come with more modules such as mail facility, Web interface modules, STD/PCO tracking and extensive help wizards. Overall, a useful software at a good price.
