Seagate brings Backup Plus Slim storage drive for mobile devices starting at Rs 4,250

We've already come across smartphone/tablet centric dual-USB drives and now Seagate, one of the most prominent names in the storage arena has introduced its Backup Plus Slim external drive that allows seamless content exchange between your drive and mobile. The drive support USB 3.0 connectivity which offers the best-in-class data transfer output for storage devices in the market.

The drives are compatible Android and iOS devices as of now and the basic integration happens via Seagate Mobile Backup app available right now on the said platform, with BlackBerry and Windows Phone expected to get support in the future. Also, looking at the trend of sharing everything socially, the company has introduced Seagate Dashboard suite which is capable of backing up your Facebook and Flickr content on the drive on schedule basis. The drive can be connected via Wi-Fi to access/backup data on Dropbox or Google Drive.

Backup Plus Slim comes in 500 GB, 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB capacity options priced at Rs 4,250, Rs 6,000, Rs 10,500 and Rs 25,000 respectively and color options like red, blue, black and silver.

Apart from Backup Plus Slim, the company has also added high-capacity Backup Plus Fast drive to its portfolio which comes in 3.5 inch form size. Also supporting USB 3.0 technology, the drive is targeted at heavy purpose users and professionals who specialize in editing large-file size and cannot compromise on performance speed which has been taken care of via its RAID 0 configuration. Both Seagate Mobile Backup and Dashboard features are compatible with the Backup Plus Fast and for 4 TB capacity the drive is available for Rs 25,000.
