Security Software: InfoLock

This is a multi-purpose utility for multiple users who share a PC. It secures files, folders, drives, etc, and gives users lots of security options. They can encrypt multiple files at a time, and give up to 128-characters long passwords in symmetric file encryption and 160, 320, 640 and 1280 bits for asymmetric file encryption. Another feature called file packager lets you package multiple files into a single file. The file package can be locked, where the package is encrypted. Infolock also lets you encrypt text in any text editor to secure confidential documents. It even has file-splitting capabilities, wherein you can split one large file (or multiple large files) into multiple smaller files for easy portability. The software can back up folders, and compress files before doing so to save space. Files deleted by Windows are not completely removed and can be recovered by using any file-recovery utility. Infolock has an option called cleansweep that allows you to delete files completely from your computer. A user authentication option tracks users logging into a system protected by Infolock. Another security function called tweaks lets you hide icons on the desktop or Start Menu, deny access to display settings and disable printer sharing.

The bottom line: A good and easy-to-use choice for places such as cyber cafes and educational institutes where many people share a computer.
