The Problem: The company's projects were spread across India at many remote sites, which made it difficult to keep track of its day-to-day operations. It often took a while to get basic information from each work site about the progress of projects, materials consumption, pending work, and costs. Also there was no integrated system to manage the business and subcontractor relationships in a better way.
The Solution: Implementation of an integrated system, to improve the way that company was managing construction projects across India, was required. There was a need of a system that would allow to forecast and allocate the right resources to projects, track day-to-day execution, monitor asset performance and ensure end-to-end process visibility nationwide.
The Result: Chetas, which comprises of the Oracle e-Business Suite Release 12 was deployed. It provided an integrated system that reduced the time required to audit the company's accounts and process payments. It allowed accountants to keep up with tax laws that vary across several states in India. It also improved the ability to allocate the right employee to the right trole by recording all staff skills in a central database.
