India’s first fully curated NFT marketplace, Jupiter Meta, has announced the launch of music NFTs in the country.

Singer and composer, Karthik, who is commonly known for his work in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, will be making music NFTs available through his special Metaverse solo concert to be held in April 14, 2022.

The launch of NFT music is a landmark in the Indian music industry. This single event will throw open new avenues for singers, musicians, composers, and lyric writers it is expected.

It will enable them with the right to ownership of their work and connect them directly with fans. NFTs will fetch a plethora of benefits for musicians and creators. For consumers, these music clips will foster a sense of ownership and financial flexibility.

“Something like this in the Metaverse is beyond imagination!  I am happy my fans will get to experience this special moment and own my new songs! Meta rocks!!” exclaimed playback singer Karthik expressing his excitement at the prospect of connecting with his fanbase through NFTs.

Manasa Rajan, the CEO, of Jupiter Meta, pointed out that Metaverse had changed beyond being just a buzzword. “It has real implications and brings actual value to the way we interact,” Rajan added.

A limited number of tickets are available on a fixed-price basis. Tickets that are bought will be stored as NFTs in a user’s wallet, possessing a tradable value.

Visitors will enjoy a few classic hits and two entirely new compositions being performed for the first time. Ticket holders will be credited with the new tracks as music NFTs. One can play them for personal use, but commercial use may attract royalties for the performer.
