Slim PS5 Variant Expected to Debut in the US on 10 November: Leak Hints at Spider-Man 2 Bundle

The release date for the thinner and lighter mid-gen PS5 update has reportedly leaked online, along with information on its initial package. According to Billbil-kun, a trustworthy leaker known for accurately releasing monthly PS Plus games ahead of schedule, the new PlayStation consoles with smaller form factors will go on sale on 10 November in the United States before spreading to other areas; both disc and digital versions will be available. On 8 November, Sony would combine it with the recently released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for $559.99, the same price as the standard edition combo. While not expressly stated, the content should be the same, including a digital game ticket and a customised controller.

According to Billbil-kun's report, the Spider-Man 2 bundle will only include the disc version of the PS5 slim 'without dedicated design,' which is most likely referring to the special edition red-and-black PS5 that appears to be consumed by Venom's black symbiote. However, whether he means the removable disc drive or the full console side plate needs to be clarified. Sony revealed the new PS5 Slim last week, which is said to be 30% smaller than the standard PlayStation 5 and 18 to 24% lighter depending on the model. It will be released next month, with a glossy top half and a matte bottom split by a black streak. It will be offered in two versions, like the original: a digital edition and one with a detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive.

Sony has sold 40 million PS5 units globally as of July, with the corporation reportedly expected to surpass that figure with renewed console sales. In India, the normal PS5 disc edition costs Rs. 54,990, while the Digital Edition costs Rs. 44,990. Both editions are now widely available in both online and physical stores. In reality, its sales are behind in the country, which would explain the recent regular discounts. Later this year, Sony plans to release the PlayStation Portal handheld gaming gadget, allowing users to stream their games from their console to a smaller screen via Wi-Fi.
