HTC has announced the Mini version of One M8 smartphone which enables users to spend less and get the look and feel of the HTC's flagship device. It has become an ongoing trend wherein biggies like Samsung, Sony bring out their so-called Mini versions of the powerful high-end devices, price it less and offer a packaged product with streamlined hardware and features.
The One Mini 2 can also be seen as the successor to One Mini which was launched last year, along side the One and just as its predecessor, One Mini 2 carries and elegance and well designed build of the One M8. You have the brushed metallic finish that is well complimented by curved edges for smooth handling. Compared to its flagship, One Mini 2 weighs at 137 grams and comes in a thicker 10.66 chassis.
But now comes the hardening part, you have a 4.5-inch 720p display, packed with 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 2100mAh battery. Does it ring any bells? Yes, these are exactly the same hardware that comes packaged in the Motorola Moto G smartphone that has created ruckus in the budget smartphone space.
Other than that, One Mini 2 sports the front-facing Boomsound dual speakers, runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat version forked over the Sense 6 UI. And instead of the dual cameras on One m8, One Mini 2 comes fitted with a 13 MP rear camera and a front facing 5 MP snapper. For storage, the phone offers 16 GB space, expandable up to 128 GB via microSD.
HTC has not shared any pricing details on the same but one can expect the One Mini 2 to hit markets across the globe in the coming months with possibly India being one of them.
