Graced with a great build and keyboard, the new Bold sports a bright and striking display, which could have been more appealing if it had been bigger. Currently at 2.45 inches, it supports capacitive touch and allows pinch to zoom in/out for better viewing and detailed web browsing. The response is flawless and just enriches the interaction. The QWERTY keyboard has 35 keys and has been improved upon with contoured edges that make for cosy typing experience. It has the newest BlackBerry OS i.e. OS 7, though there isn't any visible difference from its precursor. It's very light and sleek and weighs just 107 gm. The stunning sleek looks, despite the plastic build look classy and elegant. Bold 9790 features 1GHz processor, 768MB RAM and 8GB storage, an improvement as far as the processor is concerned, still a rarity in BlackBerry phones. The device flashes a 5 MP camera with auto-focus and yields impressive images in outdoor locations but fares moderately indoors. The camera offers multiple options like face detection along with geo tagging. The lack of HD recording is a shame, so is the absence of video calling. Its 1250 mAh battery impressed with a day's back-up with several apps running. In the same price range, you can buy Samsung Galaxy S2 which has better configuration and a bigger touchscreen but no physical keyboard like BlackBerry Bold.

Bottomline: Excellent design with touch-n-type experience is the USP of this phone, which could have been made grander with a bigger display.
