New Update

This is a software that can capture anything from images, text, video, to Web content. The image capture application can capture a full screen, window or a particular part of the screen. It can output the capture to a file, clipboard, e-mail, or a catalog. That’s not all, it can also capture text from applications that don’t have a copy option. It has a video capture option that can capture and produce videos of anything happening on your computer desktop such as, the cursor movement and the pop-up windows. This is slightly different from Camtasia’s Recorder application (also reviewed in this issue). For instance, Snagit doesn’t have a hotkey for stopping a video capture, and you can’t define as many hotkeys as you can in the Camtasia Recorder. Web content capture facility is interesting. Normally to copy images from a webpage, you either save them one by one, or save the entire web page. But using the Snagit Web content capture option, you just have to provide the URL and it will do the rest. You can even specify whether you only want a certain type of file to be saved, such as Gif, Jpeg, or

PNG.

Snagit comes with an image browser called Catalog where you can store and view all the captured images. Lastly, there is a Snagit Studio tool that can enhance your captured images with annotations, titles, callouts, graphics, and clip art.

Overall, a good screen capture software for professionals.
