Sony brings 6.4 inch Xperia Z Ultra to India at Rs 46,990

Sony India has launched its first ever phablet device, Xperia Z Ultra in the country priced at a staggering Rs 46,990. The latest Xperia model from Sony sports a 6.4 inch full HD 1080p display and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version expected soon for the device.

The big display powerful Xperia Z Ultra packs a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2 GB RAM. On the imaging front Sony Xperia Z Ultra comes with an 8 MP rear camera with 16x zoom and Exmor RS sensor and a 2 MP front camera for video calling support.

In terms of memory, the Xperia Z Ultra gets 16 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 64 GB with microSD card slot.

The phablet is backed up by a 3,000 mAh battery that as per Sony offers 16 hours of talk time. The overall finishing of the Xperia Z Ultra is top notch and feels like the extended and bigger version of Xperia Z.

Like the other Xperia Z models, this one also offers dust and water resistant feature; however for a phablet Sony has missed out on Stylus. The company has said that one can write on the Xperia Z Ultra with a pencil, pen with a tip of 1 mm in diameter.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra will be available on shelves and online platforms from 2 August for Rs 46,990.
