New Update

The RX-100, with its beautiful design, is aimed towards enthusiasts and beginners looking to make the jump to a more advanced camera. The camera is only 13.2 mm x 8.8 mm in dimensions and feels really light in your hand. The glossy feel of the design feels a little slippery, but the camera is so sleek that you would easily be mistaken for someone holding a point

and shoot. The image quality from 80-6400 ISO is perfect.

Video quality is top-notch with the ability to shoot in full HD with a 3.6x optical zoom thrown in for good measure. The operation of speed is a bit of a mixed bag; the two seconds start-up time is slower than a DSLR but average for a compact camera its size. But, it does take another 2.2 seconds to take the first shot, which is a bit disappointing. It does redeem itself in the shot-to-shot test though, where it manages 10-11 frames in a second, which is just mindblowing!

There is also the option to switch to manual focus and define your focus area. Surrounding the lens is an innovative control ring, much like the one first seen on the Canon PowerShot S-series cameras. Depending on which shooting mode is currently selected, this allows you to change key settings including aperture, shutter speed, digital zoom, and picture effects.
