Big is not always better. And more so when we talk in terms of sending and receiving data-that is very large in size. For instance, sending a huge mail

attachment can be a difficult task, or impossible in certain cases, with e-mail systems limiting the size of attachments.

You may face difficulty in downloading certain ZIP files from websites, FTP sites, etc, but are unable to, due to their huge size of the files.

So how do you get these tasks done? Well, there is a feature in Winzip 9-split Zip

feature-which can make your life simpler, since it lets you split a big ZIP file into smaller parts. So what you can do is mail these split files separately, which are even more

compressed, instead of one large ZIP file.

And in cases of download, you can again put this split Zip feature into use by breaking large files into smaller pieces that can be downloaded separately.

Zip a very large file, and to split it go to Actions in the Menu and click on Split. We zipped a 2.8 GB file and called it songs.zip

Specify a different name for the split Zip file, and choose size of individual partsfrom the 'Part size' drop-down list. Once done click on OK to create split zip files
Copying files takes some time (based on the size of the zip file). Once it is done, 'zip file split completed' box is seen That's it. You now see the split files of the size you specified and the main file with the .zip extension
