The Problem: The biggest challenge was to integrate data from diverse sources into timely and reliable actionable information, which would give insight and foresight and enable the top management and other decision makers at all levels to get timely information, analyze it and take appropriate decisions. But performing any sort of data mining or analytics over such a huge data set was another major challenge.

The Solution: The aforesaid challenges were met using various source systems and adoption of advanced data mining techniques. Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytical tools were deployed on IBM platform and used for data mining, statistical modelling and providing insight into various areas of business to the top management for decision making.

The Result: The Bank has utilized its data mining capabilities to a great extent in the areas of campaigning, risk management, alternate channels, marketing & cross-selling and new business initiatives. As a result they have been able to save costs to the tune of Rs 18 crores, get 1.77 lakh leads and achieve 27% revenue growth.
