Strontium launches USB drives for Smartphone and Tablets in India

Strontium has introduced its range of USB drives on-the-go (OTG) that are compatible with smartphone and tablets. Till date, the primary sources of consuming data/content on these smart devices have been via their internal storage capacity or by using microSD cards (if supported).

But with OTG USB drives, users can carry additional storage space for data without worrying about its safety or threat of overloading the device's internal storage space.

These OTG USB drives can be connected on the smartphone via the micro-USB port on one side and with a standard USB port on the other end one can access content from a PC or any other device directly.

Strontium On-The-Go USB drives will be available in 8GB to 64GB capacities and will come with 5-year warranty. These Strontium drives come in 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage options and all these are priced at Rs 575, Rs 950, Rs 1,825 and Rs 3, 650 respectively.

With the cost of microSD cards coming down over the course of 2013, storage companies have looked at viable future options and OTG USB drives for devices like smartphone and tablet is a move in the right direction.
