This five-speaker set can handle two (stereo) channels. These are rated at 8W + 2W * 4, a total of 16W RMS output. But a label on the box says that they are 1600W!
The speakers do look impressive on the desk. The satellites have a flat casing and contain regular tweeters inside. The subwoofer design is smaller than the AW-581B Wooferset. The subwoofer casing has controls for volume, bass, and 3D
sound. Connections are again same as in the AW-581B.
We checked the speakers for their frequency response and found that they could easily handle mid range frequencies and even higher frequencies up to 18KHz. The tweeters, however, refused to go above that. As for the subwoofer, it could reproduce tones as low as 100Hz without significant rattle. The maximum volume was better in this model, but significant distortion of sound from the tweeters occurred at high volumes. This speaker set is priced at Rs 2,600–a decent buy for a home user.
