Swipe and MTV launches MTV Slate Tablet at Rs 14,999

Swipe Telecom and MTV have joined forces once again to launch another smart device with the MTV branding. After launching MTV Volt and Slash phablets in the country, the brands have launched their first Android based tablet reminiscent of the Apple iPad Mini which comes in the 7.9 inch display size.

So, if you find the iPad Mini above your budget then you could surely consider the MTV Slate 7.85-inch tablet that sports a 1024×768 pixel resolution display and is based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform.

Under the hood, the tablet packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU along with 1 GB RAM and offers an 8 GB internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD.

Apart from that, the MTV Slate also comes with a 5 MP rear camera, and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. In terms of connectivity the tablet has 3G SIM support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is ably supported by a 3,200 mAh battery, which could fall short for the features offered.

MTV Slate is priced at Rs 14,999 and if you have a budget of Rs 10,000 then you could have a look at Simmtronics Xpad Mini tablet that also packs quad-core CPU and runs on Android 4.2 version but priced at Rs 9,999.
