The unit tested gave low efficiencies of 78 percent
at 250 watts. Although this has one of the highest scores in cost per VA, electrical
performance did not match up. The Synergy Smart Power was pulled down hour list due to its
limited backup time, large switchover time, and high float voltages.
Cold-start performance was very good, with a second 250 VA
load.
Overall, though this UPS is cost-effective in terms of
rating, it doesn’t perform well enough to recommend it very highly.
