Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that people will now be able to stream content from YouTube and Netflix in a parked Tesla car.
Elon Musk tweeted, "Ability to stream YouTube and Netflix when car is stopped coming to your Tesla soon! Has an amazingly immersive, cinematic feel due to the comfy seats & surround sound audio."
"When full self-driving is approved by regulators, we will enable video while moving," Musk further added.
The YouTube and Netflix support feature will be out soon, The CEO confirmed in replying to the comments on his twitter post. This feature may be out in August, or a few months.
This update is not surprising as Musk hinted about watching videos on Youtube at E3. This feature will be the part of the V10 software update for Tesla cars. The update will include several arcade games, infotainment characteristics, enhanced autopilot, enhanced traffic light and stop sign recognition and Smart Summon.
As per The Verge, drivers can play games like Fallout Shelter, Tempest, Pole Position and Missle Command. These games can only be played while the car is parked and the steering wheel can be used as a console. The company recently tweeted that the drivers will soon be able to play chess in Tesla Arcade.
All this is sure to bring joy to The Tesla Owners but there is a huge safety concern as these features require heavy testing and extreme caution before rolling them out to the public and even with the advancement of self-driving technology ensuring complete safety will always remain a concern.
