Meanwhile, he says the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, like last year's iPhone 14, will have updated internals to make them easier to fix.

• According to Gurman, Apple will use "low-injection pressure over-moulding" to shrink the size of the bezels around its iPhone 15 Pro series of handsets to 1.5mm this year, down from 2.2mm on the 14 Pro models. Apple's next-generation iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to include a periscope camera, a feature found on high-end Android devices.

Gurman also confirms that the iPhone 15 series will ditch the now-outdated — and slower — Lightning connector instead of a USB Type-C interface. Apple is likely to implement this hardware update to comply with EU regulations that take effect in December 2024.
