industry). In an industry where a quick change of jobs is often seen as a virtue, George Paul Edasserry has stayed with HCL for the last twenty-five years. He has been closely associated with some of the most successful IT brands and projects in the country. Today, he heads the marketing initiatives of HCL Infosystems, and is a member of the senior management team of the company.
Mohanachandran M R, Deputy Director, CDIT
(Representing past
winners). An engineer by training, Mohanachandran is currently heading the e-governance initiatives taken up by CDIT, on behalf of the Government of Kerala. He was also instrumental in setting up CDIT's first regional center. The FRIENDS project, that he was responsible for was adjudged as one of the 10 best IT implementations in the country last year. FRIENDS is now active in all districts of
Kerala.
Sanjay Singh, Head IT, Timex watches
(Representing IT
users). Sanjay was on the jury last year also, and provided continuity to the deliberations.
After completing his engineering, Sanjay started his profession as a C programmer for embedded devices, moved on to networks and database management and then got back to embedded-systems' design. He joined Timex in 1998 and has a total of 12 years of experience. He is a proponent of Linux, having converted many of Timex's systems to run on Linux. He has been running PCQLinux ever since the early Slackware editions.
Sivakumar S, CEO, International Business Division, ITC
(Representing past
winners). Sivakumar is the brain behind the hugely successful e-Chaupal project of ITC. e-Chaupal was adjudged the best IT implementation in the country last year. Topper of the 1983 batch from the IRMA (Institute of Rural Management), Anand, he served a farmers' cooperative in the oilseeds sector for six years before joining ITC. He is on the Boards of ITC Infotech India Ltd, Agro Tech Foods Ltd and SOPA Board of Trade Ltd. He is also on the Management Committees of several industry bodies. He has been with ITC since 1989 and is presently in the International Business Division.
He chaired the deliberations of the jury this year.
Kallol Hazra, Practice Principal, HP
(Representing IT
industry). Kallol has extensive experience in conceptualizing and implementing large IT systems. He has been in the combined entity of Compaq and HP for more than nine years handling various roles in Technical Support, Sales, Solution Marketing and business development. His current focus is the telcom industry and he is responsible for managing HP India's Telecom Practice. Prior to joining HP, Kallol has had professional stints with Tata IBM, PCL and PSI Data Systems.
