The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2: Features

Samsung uses a 4nm technology to manufacture the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, which includes an octa-core CPU arrangement with two performance cores running at 2.2 GHz based on the Arm Cortex-A77 architecture and six functional cores based on the Arm Cortex-A55 architecture. Additionally, it receives an upgraded Adreno GPU over the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip.

  • A new Snapdragon X61 5G model RF with up to 2.5Gbps download speed, global 5G multi-SIM support with support for the sub 6 GHz band, and 4x4 MIMO support for improved wireless networking capabilities are some of the other standout characteristics of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

  • The chip works with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology, up to UFS 3.1 storage modules, and LPDDR5x type RAM. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip's GPU can also power displays with refresh rates of up to 120Hz and enable up to 108 MP cameras with 1080p 60fps video capture.
  • According to Qualcomm, multi-Camera Temporal Filtering (MCTF), which offers noise reduction for high-quality films, is now included in hardware for the first time in a Snapdragon 4-series SoC.
  • Additionally, the new SoC adds additional AI improvements, such as an AI-based low-light for clear, detailed images in low light. Thanks to AI-enhanced background noise removal, users are heard clearly on calls and video during business hours or in a crowded setting.

According to Qualcomm, Redmi and Vivo are the first manufacturers to introduce products with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC. Similarly, the company states during the presentation that the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC-equipped 5G phones will cost roughly Rs 15,000 in India. The new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, which Qualcomm Technologies unveiled, is said to be designed to increase user access to unique mobile experiences. The chipset offers exceptional photography and videography support, quick CPU speeds, and all-day use. It also supports 5G network access.
