Vivo X Fold 2

While it may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think about foldable smartphones,Vivo is one of the handfuls that has entered the fray. The Vivo X Fold was released earlier this year, and sources indicate that the company is working on a folding and flipping phone.

When can we expect the release of the Vivo X Fold 2?

According to a recent leak from Digital Chat Station, a reliable source on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Vivo will release the Vivo X Fold 2 with the Vivo X Flip in the first half of 2022. Following the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered X Fold and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1-powered X Fold Plus, both of which were released in 2022, the X Fold 2 might be the third Vivo foldable smartphone.

It is yet to be determined whether the smartphone will be released in India, but if the first-generation X Fold is any indication, we may not see a release outside of China.

What we know about the Vivo X Fold 2

The Vivo X Fold 2 will succeed the Vivo X Fold, confirming that Vivo's future foldable will be labelled as part of the X-series, as Samsung labels all of its foldable as part of the Z-series.

Expected Features

  • The Vivo X Fold 2 smartphone might include a 2K foldable display.
  • Two under-display fingerprint sensors will be included.
  • One for the smaller external display and another for the more prominent, foldable inner display.
  • The smartphone is also rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, with a Sony IMX866 sensor as the primary camera.

Conclusion

More information about the gadget is not currently accessible, but we anticipate seeing more leaks in the coming weeks. The Vivo X Fold will not be the only folding phone to hit the market this year. It will also face competition from Google's first foldable Pixel phone and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 4 successor.
