New Update

Wipro’s WeP PenDrive is a little USB drive capable of storing up to 64 MB data. It’s also available in 8 MB, 16 MB, and 32 MB capacities, and we reviewed the last. Weighing from 12-30 g, and measuring 57x17x7 mm only, its light weight and tiny size makes it easy to carry. A handy key lets you hook it on to your belt.

The drive can be used by marketing personnel for client presentations or to carry important data, without having to carry notebooks. Or, you could simply carry large files in it from office to home.

The drive is quite simple to use. Just connect it to the USB port of your PC, install the drivers from the driver CD and you are ready to go. The drive supports Windows 9x/2000. Once installed, you can edit, save, add or delete documents directly on to the Pen drive.

We first tested its write speed by copying 31 MB data from the PC to it. The 31 MB of data was a mixture of TXT, RTF, BMP, MP3s, and PDF files. The drive did this in 2 min 20 sec, which translates to a write speed of about 221 kBps. Next we tested its read speed by transferring the same amount of data from the Pen drive to the hard disk. This time it took 50 sec (a read speed of 620 kBps), which is quite good.

The drive comes with one-year warranty and is quite handfor people on the move.
