The GTA franchise is one of the most famous franchises in the gaming community. The open-world games are fun to play and some even have multiplayer and online modes. However, these games have become highly demanding overtime, and now it is hard for them to run on low or mid-spec PCs but that's not the end of the world for budget gamers. There are some lesser-known games that can run on low or mid-spec computers, and it is equally fun playing them, if not more. These games can be played on at least 30 FPS on the ideal graphic setting. You just need 1 GB of VRAM, at least a Quad-core processor and 4 GB of RAM to start with.

#1 THE CREW

It is an open-world game by Ubisoft. It is a fun game, The map size in this game is about 10,000 square kilometres which is 78x larger GTA V's map and 333x larger than GTA San Andreas. The graphics might not be impressive for a lot of people, but they are quite good. The car mechanics are decent for an open-world game. The story is also good and engaging. The biggest take-away from this game is the map. Having America as your playground sets this game apart. It has a good collection of cars but can not be compared to NFS or Forza.

This is a first-person open-world game where you are given a lot of freedom to invest your scavenged resources to upgrade everything from the available selection of weapons to health. These decisions can influence your play style through the roughly 8 hours of the campaign. The game makes clearing outposts and generating chaos a fun drill and the upgrade options just make your character like an overpowered Rambo. The expeditions are thrilling and missions are more exciting than not. New Dawn is a good diversion as you wait for Far Cry's next big thing.

One of the best open-world games based in Chicago. It is a beautiful city that is made with solid graphics to make it feel alive. You can manipulate the city with the click of a button. Hacking traffic lights, bank accounts and information are some of the fun things that you can do in this game. This is just the to of the iceberg of things that you can do. The game has a good combat system, weapon armoury and a good selection of vehicles. It is one of the most definitive open-world games. The controls can be wonky at times but do not affect the gameplay much.

#4 MAFIA III

This game is beautiful. It will remind you of the memories that you did not know you have. The storyline is very interesting and definitely more interesting than most movies. The ground combat is better than GTA and the storyline and ground pedestrians are less obnoxious. It does a good job of putting you in the past and makes you feel that you are actually a part of the 1968 society. The graphics and attention to detail are seriously top-notch, and you would enjoy playing this game.

#5 JUST CAUSE 4

Gamers hated this game for not being polished correctly and being dumped on the community. The world itself is better than the last title and the places of interaction are very well-built. However, the cities could have been better. The storyline is linear, but you might get in testing the enhanced robust physics of the game. It is well-optimized and can be played on 1 GB VRAM and does not shoot up the CPU and GPU temperatures. It is a great pastime and fun to play the game.
