If you are always on the move and want a light notebook, the Satellite 31 CDT from Toshiba should interest you. It’s a sleek, compact notebook that is only 3.2 cm thick and weighs 2 kg. It features a Pentium III 700 MHz processor, a 20 GB hard disk, and 128 MB RAM.

The 12.1” active matrix color display offers a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768. It has a modular bay having a floppy drive, which you can hot-swap with an optional CD-writer, or DVD drive. The notebook has an integrated 56 K modem and all commonly used communication ports–parallel, PS/2, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, USB, Firewire, and IR. 
Besides the 84-key keyboard, there’s an Internet button that lets you launch the browser, and two programmable buttons to run applications of your choice. The 31 CDT has a touchpad and built-in stereo speakers. Its Lithium-ion battery is rated at 3 hours.

It comes installed with Windows Me, Toshiba Utilities, and comes with a Toshiba recovery CD. Optional parts include 64MB/128 MB memory kit, Lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack, Universal AC Adaptor, and Toshiba 2GB Type II PC Card HDD. It has a warranty of one year.
