New Update

Transcend USB drives have a certain reliability factor that tends to work in user's favour. The company has managed to offer high-capacity storage without going overboard with its pricing and with JetFlash 510 drives; it continues to work on the same lines.

JetFlash 510 is tiny piece of USB drive built around metallic body that exudes class and far cry from the plasticky natured drives that have been around in the market for a while. The drive comes in silver and gold colored options and without out its form factor makes it easy to carry and fits into even the smallest section of your pocket. And with 32 GB worth storage (30 GB usable for some reason) it makes for a perfect on-the-go storage companion. The drive weighs 2.7 grams which is totally negligible and vindicates our point about bring lightweight which in this case is more like featherlite. The drive comes in 4.5 mm thick form factor which is quite deceptive when using it for real.

Coming to its core aspect of functioning like a USB drive, the JetFlash 510 easily mounts on the laptop ports without protruding outside and becomes like a part of the system itself. The only basic drawback about the drive is its USB 2.0 port. Currently, you can find many USB 3.0 drive options, guaranteed they do not come cheap but still for Rs 1,890 JetFlash 510 could have offered us more.

We can highlight that aspect via HDTune Pro score of the JetFlash which scored a maximum of 31.5 MB/sec, decent for a high-storage drive but the price warrants more. The drive is available in storage options ranging from 8 GB to 32 GB. All we can say is, the drive may be small is size but a definite giant in terms of its storage. One notable thing that we observed is that, owing its metallic body the drive heats up frequently which thankfully has no major consequences.
