Trident is an upcoming 5 star hotel in Bandra Kurla, Mumbai. With recent
terrorist attacks in mind, Trident wanted to identify and track all its visitors
movements. Trident was looking for a solution which could automate the entire
processfrom visitor registration, issue of temp access cards as well as badges
for visitors with minimum human interaction, and save time as well as costs.
Trident finally selected Visitor Management System (VMS) from Cogent Solution,
which is a web based solution that uses SQL 2005 Express Edition as backend.
Modules of this solution include a web cam, bar code reader, digital signature
(for visitors signatures) , color printer, SMB module and a card scanner for
Scanning visiting cards of the visitors. With solution in place, whenever a
visitor checks in for the first time, his photograph and digital signatures are
captured and a temp access card is issued. All items taken inside by the visitor
are also barcoded. After the implementation of VMS, Trident now is capable of
monitoring entire visitors traffic through its reception. Whenever any visitor
checks in, employees of Trident are immediately informed through SMS and E-mail.
In future, the company plans to integrate it with RFID, which will help them
track visitor location and movement in premises.
