The Tripp Lite 675 is the highest (VA) rated system in
this shootout. The system comes as a tower model with three output sockets, an RS 232 port
and a reset switch on the back, with indicator LED’s and the On/Off and Test switches
on the front panel.
Tripp |
A "Tower" model with three power outlets. Insufficient regulation for Indian conditions. Barely able to cold-start a 250 VA load. Optional software control (not tested). Rs 12,000, Ranking: 14 (of 17 tested) Efficiency: 86% at 273 W Switchover time: 5.2 ms Backup time: 12 minutes |
As with most of the other models imported from the
west, this one also loses out on regulation. And like several other Tripp Lite models, the
675 too failed the cold start test. It was barely able to start a single 250 VA load.
However, the price per VA is among the best of all the UPSs
tested; the switchover was fast, at five milliseconds, and this UPS displayed an
impressive 86 percent efficiency at 273 watts. Overall, if you have a stable or regulated
mains supply, this is a good UPS to use.
