Of the two, the first utilities released is a Windows key shortcut guide which generally is a full screen overlay with dynamic shortcuts that can be used for each active window or app. To use the Windows key shortcut guide, hold down the Windows key that allows you to discover keyboard shortcuts. The shortcut guide is helpful for users who aren’t familiar with majority of the built-in Windows keyboard shortcuts and are looking to find quicker ways to do things in select apps.

FancyZones window manager is the second utility especially useful if for users who run multiple apps side-by-side. The utility allows you to configure custom zones and then simply drag and drop the apps you want to work with into these custom layouts. All the apps will be automatically resized. A must have utility if you want to customise your desktop and window management even further on Windows 10. The company has also shared a 5-minute tutorial video to guide you through all the different ways in which you can use FancyZones. However, it won’t work seamlessly in a multiple monitor setups as of now.

The Windows 10 shortcut guide and FancyZones are the first two utilities for Windows 10. They are already available as open source on GitHub, and the company says more utilities will follow soon.

If you want to download FancyZones and the Windows key shortcut guide utilities, you can download them from here. They are also a part of PowerToys project over at GitHub.
