BSNL, Airtel Win as Top WAN Connectivity Providers

BSNL wins the Users' Choice Club in the 100-499 employee segment, followed by Airtel. In the 500-999 employee segment Airtel beats Tata Communications to the top. BSNL ends up at the 3rd position here.

The users of the top 5 service providers are equally satisfied with their offerings as they get a rating of 4.0 or 4.1/5 in the 100-499 employee segment. In the 500-999 employee segment, Sify users are the most satisfied with a rating of 4.3/5 followed by Airtel at 4.2/5.

Of the people who currently subscribe to Airtel in the 100-499 segment, 63% cited its brand name as the reason. Likewise 83% of Net4India users quoted quality of service as the reason for choosing it as the service provider. 55% of Reliance Infocomm users quoted quality of service as the reason. In the 500-999 segment, almost 50% of Satyam/Sify, Tata Communications and Airtel users quoted quality of service as the reason for owning those brands while 43% of Reliance Infocomm users quoted it being as a value for money brand.

We also checked the reasons why users are likely to purchase a particular brand in future. In the 100-499 employee segment, 47% of those likely to buy Airtel's services quoted its brand name as the reason, while 83% of those likely to purchase Net 4 India's services quoted its quality of service as the reason. 52% of those likely to purchase Reliance Infocomm quoted quality of service as the reason. Within the 500-999 employee segment, 83% of those likely to purchase Satyam/Sify's services quoted its quality of service as the reason while 50% of those likely to purchase Reliance Infocomm's services think they provide quality service. 46% are likely to purchase BSNL because of its after sales support.

Loyalties for current service providers run high again as can be judged by above 90% ratings for all service providers in the 100-499 employee segment. This could be due to the long service contracts that users have taken. In the 500-999 employee segment, the story remains the same.
