Global desktop PC sales might be on the wane as compared to their fancied rivals like laptops, notebooks and tablets, but every cloud has a silver lining. HP continues its sheer dominance over the rest of the pack in both the 100-499 and 500-999 employee segments, just from where it left last year and the one before.

In the 100-499 segment, market competitors, Lenovo and Dell, follow suit at second and third positions, respectively – with 82% and 67% current brand owners among overall respondents – by narrowing down the gap with HP in the 100-499 segment. As in Users’ Choice Club 2012, HCL is at fourth position with an index score of 40%, even as it lost out a bit to its closest rival Acer, at number five. In brand loyalty, HP has 99%, Dell 95% and Lenovo is at 94%, whereas HCL has dramatically improved its score to 100% – from 73% last year. In brand satisfaction, Lenovo and Acer have secured 4.4 out of 5, while HP and Dell are at 4.3.

Dell is a big gainer in the 500+ segment, which has amassed a huge 82% index score – from 64% last year – to climb to the second position, thereby pushing Lenovo down by a slot. HCL is placed at fourth like last year – with 34% – but it seems to have lost its mojo a bit, followed by Acer at a distant fifth (16%). All brands but HCL enjoy high satisfaction levels among their users for the quality of their products and services, as brand name ranks on top for HCL users. Acer has scored a perfect 5 in brand satisfaction, followed by Dell and Lenovo users, who gave a score of 4.3 out of 5.

Among all, HP boasts high brand loyalty of 100% and might entice a few users of other brands to shift out to its fold. Lenovo has 98% loyal users and HCL 97%.
