The Problem: The company is into iron ore excavation from various open-cast mines in Goa and transportation of the same using trucks, to processing plants. The trip data components were manually captured on paper slips at 4 different points. Merging of this data into meaningful transaction from multiple capture points was becoming a problem with complexities of multiple mines locations, routes, weighbridges and unloading points including product-wise stacks, plant input line, etc.

The Solution: The company deployed GPRS based NFC mobiles at each of the loading/unloading machines at each locations in the various mines. They provided RFID cards to trucks doing away the manual writing of slips of each trip. RFID readers interfaced to the load-cells transmit the weights to the database via GPRS and provide online location of the trucks at various stages.

The Result: This has eliminated the need for data entry of the manual slips and no time delays for daily production reports including product-wise, machine-wise, truck-wise happens. Trips details/summaries are available in almost real-time now.
