Videocon launches first quad-core Smartphone A55HD

Videocon has decided to enter the quad-core smartphone space in the country where the competition is intense with the likes of Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and Xolo among others are already present. These brands have made use of Mediatek quad-core processor that is offered in budget smartphones at less than Rs 15,000.

Videocon A55 HD is the latest addition to company's smartphone portfolio which already comprises of more than five products. The A55 HD sports a 5-inch 720 pixels HD display and is based on latest Android 4.2 version.

Under the hood, the phone packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor which has become synonymous with budget smartphones in the country. The phone comes with 1 GB RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2,000 mAh battery.

Others options like 8 MP rear and a 3.2 MP front camera are also available and for connectivity you have 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS among other options. The phone supports Panorama mode, Burst mode (which can take up to 40 continuous shots in one go) and the common auto-focus feature.

The display has 1280x720 pixels resolution which is equal to the display available on Micromax Canvas HD, Zen Ultrafone HD and others. Videocon A55 HD is priced at Rs 13,499 which is an attractive price point.
