Vipre Antivirus Premium has a revamped anti-virus and anti-spyware engine and includes an integrated firewall.

We tested the software on a Windows 7 (32-bit) machine with 1GB RAM and 20 GB hard disk. Installation was quite easy and before first use, it automatically downloaded malware signatures. We loaded the system with viruses and spyware of different file formats like .exe, .wav, .bmp and .zip. Vipre took 50 minutes to completely scan and delete viruses with an accuracy of approx. 96% while Trend Micro (reviewed last month) had taken 1 hour 20 minutes and deleted the viruses with the same accuracy. The installation package also contains additional tools like Malwarebytes and Vipre Rescue which add to the security. Another tool, Clear Cloud DNS prevents users from being able to access harmful websites, which can download malicious software on to your system. It also contains backup software, but compared to Trend Micro’s 10 GB online backup s .

Bottomline: Though it lacks online backup, it is a good antivirus.
