The Problem: The internet usage pattern of employees was becoming a growing concern, because of the network hazards that were impending if it was not handled. Unrestrained internet usage was leading to the network becoming exposed to viruses, Trojans and malware. Network security was affecting efficiency of business processes, so action needed to be taken.

The Solution: Balaji (IT Head, Vivek Ltd) decide on using the Nevales N300-X security gateway to protect their network. It implemented a network-wide virus protection that blocks all virus infected files in real-time. User management feature facilitates company to define policies allocating roles and access controls for each unique user, and this makes bandwidth management much easier. The firewall and IDS guard the organization's network against malware from internal and external origins.

The Result: The solution was implemented in 4 locations in Chennai and amounts to costs of about 7 lacs per annum. The company saved bandwidth by using this product, and there was an increase in productivity with the access management and firewall to block unwanted sites. Customer service has improved by providing secure access to critical business data for employees. Automated updates of the solution and automated monitoring has reduced the pressure on the IT team to manually monitor usage patterns of employees.
