India Welcomes Vivo V29 Series with 80W Fast Charging

On Wednesday (4 October), the Vivo V29 Pro and Vivo V29 were released in India. The latest V-series smartphones from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer feature 6.78-inch AMOLED panels with a refresh rate of 120Hz. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC powers the standard Vivo V29, while a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC powers the Vivo V29 Pro. The Vivo 29 series features triple rear cameras and runs Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13. They are the successor to the Vivo V27 series, which was introduced in the country in March. Both models include 50-megapixel selfie cameras powered by 4,600mAh batteries with 80W fast charging capabilities.

Vivo V29 Pro, Vivo V29 price in India, and Vivo V29 availability

The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage edition of the Vivo V29 Pro costs Rs. 39,999 in India. The most expensive model, with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, costs Rs. 42,999. It is available in Himalayan Blue and Space Black. The Vivo V29, on the other hand, costs Rs. 32,999 for an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and Rs. 36,999 for a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. It is available in Himalayan Blue, Majestic Red, and Space Black.

They are available for pre-order in India via Flipkart, Vivo's online shop and offline retail partners. The Vivo V29 Pro will be available starting 10 October, while the standard model will be available beginning 17 October.

Vivo V29 Pro specifications

The features and design of the Vivo V29 Pro and Vivo V29 are comparable. The dual SIM (nano) Vivo V29 Pro runs FunTouch OS 13 on Android 13 and has a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,260x2,800 pixels) 3D curved AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and PWM dimming at up to 2160Hz. It has a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM.

It has three back cameras: a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS (optical image stabilisation), a 12-megapixel portrait camera, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor. Slow motion, micro move, supermoon, dual view, live photo, panoramic, and time-lapse photography are the video and photographic modes supported by the back camera. It has a 50-megapixel sensor with autofocus on the front.

The Vivo V29 Pro comes with 256GB of internal storage. 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, Beidu, GLONASS, Galileo, Navic, and a USB Type-C connection are among the connectivity choices. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.

The Vivo V29 Pro is powered by a 4,600mAh battery that supports 80W rapid charging. The fast-charging technology claims to charge the battery from 0 to 50% in as little as 50 minutes. It has dimensions of 164x74.37x7.4mm and weighs 188 grams.

The SIM, software, and display specs of the Vivo V29 are the same as those of the Vivo V29 Pro. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It also supports the Extended RAM option.

The Vivo V29's triple rear camera unit comprises a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS capability, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel bokeh camera. It boasts the same 50-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats.

It has Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, while the other connectivity choices and sensors are identical to the Vivo V29 Pro. It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the display for biometric authentication. It has a 4,600mAh battery and supports 80W rapid charging. The handset has dimensions of 164.18x74.37 cm 7.46mm and weighs 186 grams.
