New Update

This was an infrastructure-based project, initiated by WBSEDCL with the help

of TCS, where all 46 Divisional Computer Centers (DCCs) in the state of West

Bengal were to be connected to each other. Earlier, all of these were at

scattered locations, and all the revenue-related data was in a state of

isolation. Itbecame difficult for the corporate office to consolidate all this

data and generate MIS reports.

To overcome this, WBSEDCL decided to build synchronicity between all the DCCs.

They connected them via V-SAT links of 64 Kbps with shared bandwidth. With

this, they were able to bring in transparency, efficiency and better utilization

of resources.

Now all the data is consolidated at one central location, which further

allows them to generate consolidated MIS reports in time.

They have also installed a CRM Application Package in sub-stations and

electric supply stations for call center operations, where customer complaints

will be entertained on priority basis. A customer can now get a real-time update

about his/her complaint from any of the DCCs.

The entire project is still in its pilot stages, and will start commercial

operation once the pilot is over.
