"There are two aspects to information security: public and private. While the public information is there for everyone to see and comment upon, it is the private life of an individual that is being compromised upon through increased snooping by various agencies in the name of security. We see a balkanisation of Internet with increased government controls on what you access and post. Not to be left behind, corporates might be inclined to deploy apps on smartphones and tablets to turn on cameras and mics when required. All this in the name of security. And aren't we all gullible? For instance, how many times do we read all the terms and conditions on the net before accepting them? Well most of us don't but I do, all the time. By the same logic, I am equally paranoid about reading unknown emails as hackers target me. So, I request people to notify me first before sending mails. I dont read mails unless notified."

"We must have free flow of information for the Internet to prosper. Again, information on chemicals used to manufacture bombs might be removed but this might also remove useful information on chemicals that can also be used for peaceful purposes. India is creating a great model of enforcing governance through internet but this also makes her more susceptible to cyber attacks through user devices. There you must have comprehensive security mechanisms in place at all levels and remember cyber space is a continuous tussle between the good and the evil."
