The introduction of the iPhone 15 is expected to happen later this year, according to sources. Even if the regular model from last year wasn't a true improvement over the iPhone 13, the information we now have from leaks indicates that the iPhone 15, which is anticipated to be released in September or October 2023, will feature at least three significant changes.

Major biggest upgrade on iPhone 15

Considering that Apple has only announced iPhones with a Lightning port so far, the iPhone 15 will be the first smartphone from the company to feature a USB Type-C port.

This has been confirmed by Apple itself because a European law requires that all smartphones have a USB Type-C port by 2024. At the present time, only Apple sells smartphones with a different charging port.

As a result, it will have to abide by the order because it has been argued that every device should have a USB Type-C port because people need to carry multiple chargers.

Therefore, Apple will eventually replace the Lightning connector on the iPhone 15 with a USB-C port; however, it is being speculated that the company intends to restrict the cables that are compatible with the iPhone 15 USB Type-C port to those that have been MFi-certified.

Camera

The 48-megapixel wide-angle camera found on the Pro models of the iPhone 14 series is said to be included in the rumored iPhone 15. The 12-megapixel sensors on the current iPhone models would be vastly improved by this.

It is anticipated that the standard model of the iPhone 15 series will have three cameras at the back, as opposed to the two cameras that were featured on earlier regular models.

Last but not least, the new Dynamic Island feature that can be found on iPhone 14 Pro models is likely to be available on iPhone 15 Pro models. In contrast to the iPhone 14, which has an outdated design, it is being speculated that this feature will also be available on the standard iPhone 15 model this time around.

This basically means that the punch-hole display that we first saw on the iPhone Pro models from last year will be present on all of the next-generation iPhones.
